CHAIN ACTIVATION
Glutes, hips, hamstrings — the posterior chain that actually starts the sprint.

Long resistance bands for the strength work most amateur footballers skip: hips, glutes, and the chain that keeps knees and ankles honest across a season. Use them in a warm-up (banded walks, monster walks, clams) or as a short extra block after a pitch session. Different colours are different loads — start light if you have not trained bands before, then move up when the last reps are slow rather than sloppy.
This is training kit, not match protection. Keep Shinplex pads for games. A band will not stop a stud. It will not rehab a diagnosed tear. If a hip or knee locks, swells, or gives way, see a clinician instead of loading it with a thicker band.
Pack them in the same bag as a ladder or a ball. They take almost no space in the boot of the car. Loop around the knees for lateral walks, around the feet for kickbacks, or as an anchor for pall-of-style core work if you have somewhere solid to attach. Check the band for nicks before you stretch it. Do not stretch a band toward your face. Do not stand on a frayed band.
A simple session that actually gets done: eight banded lateral walks each way, eight monster walks, then eight glute bridges with the band above the knees. Two rounds. That is five minutes, not a gym programme. Do it before a cage night or after a desk day. If the band rolls, it is too light or too high on the thigh. If it bites, it is too small. Replace a band the moment you see a white stress line — that is how they snap.
Shop bands from Training when you already own the pad and you want midweek load. Pair with the skills mat or SAQ ladder if you want a driveway session that is not just shooting. Designed as football kit, not a generic gym pack with no context for a match week.
Do not use these as a warm-up for a diagnosed hamstring tear, and do not loop a band around the neck. Keep them out of direct sun in the car so the rubber does not go brittle. If you coach an age-group side, one pack covers a station: lateral walks while the next group shoots. Replace the lightest band first — that is the one players stand on. This listing is for footballers who already have Shinplex protection sorted and want a cheap way to load hips between games, not a physiotherapy programme.
PRE-GAME / REHAB
Long resistance bands for activation, rehab and pre-match rituals. Multi-colour resistance so you can load glutes, hips and hamstrings before you step on the pitch — and again when you're building back.
Glutes, hips, hamstrings — the posterior chain that actually starts the sprint.
Step the resistance up as the warm-up progresses, or down when you're rehabbing.
Two minutes before kick-off beats walking onto a cold muscle.
Controlled load when you're building back, not guessing with a weight plate.
Long bands for football patterns, not a door-anchor gym gimmick.
Load them, loop them. Not right? Send them back within 30 days.
